Speaking of Moving/PP Reports...
I didn't want to hijack the other thread...do you have to wait until two post placement reports are completed before moving out of state? Is just one completed ok? What's the rule on that?
Thanks!!

Good question - we've already completed the 6 month and 1 year PPR, so I think we're ok.......but I didnt know you had to wait a certain amount of time before moving.
Good luck. |

I don't know for sure, but I don't think they could prevent you from moving -- even one day after you came home.
You agree to do the postplacement reports in court in Russia...but you don't agree to live in the same house. I think you'd be fine. Your post-placement report would simply have to address the change.

We didn't have to wait at all. We adopted and moved states 2mos later. The only requirement was to re-register with the Russian Consulate.

My adoption paperwork was listed in one home and I moved technically 2 weeks after returning home. I actually owned both homes for a couple of months. I simply sent a letter to the consulate to update my new address.

Thanks so much! I'm glad to know I don't have to wait...moving to southern WA or Portland, OR sometime next year.

We moved WHILE we were in Russia (bought a house and got a court date within the same 2 week period of time---major, major stress!) and it wasn't a problem. I just put our new address on the 1st post placement visit report. All I have to say is that we have the greatest family and friends. We packed everything in 3 days and they moved it all and set up our new home for us. What an awesome gift. So you shouldn't have any problems.
