Those from PA....question for you

Though I live in NC, I was born in Berwick, PA. Obviously, I need a notarized birth cert. NOw, I know you can go through a certain company. However, the way it works in NC, is you can go to the capital to get any birth cert but it will cost you $30 a copy. If you go to the county and request one, it will only cost you $10 a copy. So my question is, can I call Columbia Registrar of Deeds are request my birth cert or do I have to go directly to Harrisburg Dept. of Vital Records? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Also, how much does it cost to apostille in PA now per doc? Ours is $10 in NC and $5 if it is a duplicate doc. Need to order tomorrow. As always, when the documents weigh as much as the child, you are allowed to travel.

Take care,

I believe that it is most expedient to go through Harrisburg. I don't know if you can get the notarized document and apostile at the same time...I was able to do that with Florida for our marriage license.

I second what Jim said, go through Harrisburg. I am sure you could find something online.
We needed a new copy for dh and we had gone to our local courthouse, but I believe the website would have info for you. I'll see if I can find something.
