Thank you so much for you advice and your concern....
I was blown away by all the responses to my thread asking if it will get easier for me someday after adopting 2 at once. You all had some great advice...and the PM's I received were so touching. Thank you for caring. I feel like you all understand so much better than anyone else does and that is very helpful.
To add to my already colorful life: Regina (age 4) had emergency dental surgery yesterday morning. We were at the most wonderful children's hospital for this procedure. The actual surgery took over 2 hours. The dentist said it was one of the worst cases of teeth she's ever seen. She had 8 teeth pulled and crowns put on most of the remaining teeth. She also got spacers, etc... She looks very silver now. She was unable to sleep through the night before this due to her pain. She'd just weep quietly in her bed each night. It broke my heart. Nothing I did seemed to calm her much, but I sure tried. I had to call for pain meds to get her through each day and finally a dentist listened to my plea for help to get her in soon. They even allowed me into the initial recovery room with her since she's newly adopted and doesn't speak the language. She looked absolutely horrible but I was so thankful they allowed me in there. We bonded in a whole new way yesterday morning. Anyway, I hope we are turning a corner now since this surgery has been done. Lilia is having trouble getting to sleep at night. Once we can get all 4 kids to bed at a decent hour and sleeping through the night I'll feel like a normal person again. My days are SO full that I must get enough sleep at night or I can't survive. My goal for the next few days is to get out a bit more and to spend more time snuggling my boys. I feel like they're left in the dust right now. I actually made it to a T-ball game with all 4 kids by myself last night! I was so happy just being around my friends again while I was there. I gotta do that more often. Getting out of the house really lifts my spirits!

poor regina! hearing how she has been suffering makes me wonder what (if anything) was being done for her in the orphanage!!????
i'm so thankful she has parents now who will give her the interventions she needs --- not to mention the unconditional and FOREVER love and commitment.

Sorry to hear about Regina's surgery. She will start to feel so much better after all this! I was worried at first that Sam would have a problem eating - on one side of his mouth he only had 3 teeth- but the dentist reassured us that eating without teeth was so much easier for him than eating with such painful, infected ones.
They bounce back so quickly! And you will see a change in her personality now that she is not in chronic pain. All the best, Christina

That poor baby girl. My mouth just hurts thinking about it! I would be willing to bet that once she recovers from her surgery that her adjustment to her new life will go much easier. Didn't you other daughter have pnumonia? No wonder it has been so tough for you. Not only are you dealing with going from 2 to 4, but sick babies as well. Remember to take care of yourself and get help where you can.

I'm hoping as well that Regina will be able to relax and you'll see a whole new child now! It sounds like the surgery went well - although obviously stressful. Glad to hear about the ball game - it does make you feel better to have an adult conversation sometimes! Continue the good work!

I only have just read all the posts on here and your other thread. Hope everyone is doing better! I can relate somewhat. We adopted two children at one time and NOW THEY ARE 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes, two 2 year olds!!!!!!!! Mostly it is great but there are many difficult and trying times. And it is important to have time for yourself although it definitely is a life change. Maybe you can get up a half hour earlier in the morning to have some "you" time.
best wishes

Hope things start getting much better soon, especially now that poor baby is not in so much pain. Hang in there, I'm another "two at a timer" and it does get better. (The initial "Oh My God What Have We Done?" feeling alleviates -- I'm thinking it's just a test, heh, heh. ) Best wishes.
