Way OT. Has anyone seen Cars yet?
I am just curious. I think we are taking Alex on thursday night. Taking him to a movie goes against my better judgement, but he really wants see this movie.
Does anyone that has seen it, think it would hold a 3 year olds attention? Thanks, Vicki

We saw it last weekend with my DS (5), my nephew (4) and niece (3). They all really enjoyed it, as did the adults. That being said, I did think there was one part that was a little slow, although none of the kids got too antsy.
A lot will depend on your DS's personality. We took my DS to see Finding Nemo when he was just over 2 years old. He loved it. My daughter is 2 and I'm not sure she'd even sit through the movie trailer -- much less a whole movie.

Vicki-
I took my 3 year old born Feb, I think right around Alex's age on Saturday. he really liked it but did get antsy in the middle. I think the problem was too many previews, we were 25 minutes into it before the feature film came on. It was his first movie in a theatre, so he loved the whole experience though.

We saw it - we all loved it! Six-year-old Julia kept chanting, "Machina! Machina!" We stayed all through the credits, too - very clever.

We took my 3 year old and he loved it. But, the movie was 2 hrs and 15 minutes. At times, he did get a little antsy, so I just got up and took him to the bathroom. Now all he says is "I'm Lightning McQueen!" :-)

We are going, maybe today also. I am curious about the credits remark. Do they do something fun with the credits like some movies do? If so, I will make sure we stay.

I think I will take him tomorrow night. He keeps talking about Lightening McQueen or as Alex says Whitening Keen!

our experience
I thought it was a little long for the kids too. We went opening night with our son, Andrew, who is 4. He is usually really good at movies. He started to get fidgety during the last 15 or 20 minutes.
I personally thought the movie was really good. We have seen every animated movie in the past 2 years and this one rates up near the top. I also liked "The Wild." Good Luck!

The previews "kill" my daughter.
She doesn't get why the movie just doesn't start. By the time they are over, she is antsy. Go early get your seats and then entertain Alex outside, while the others save you seats. That way when you go in - the movie is starting, especially if it is over 2 hours long.C is getting better at it, but it has taken a few times, and some less enjoyable than others. That being said, I can't imagine Alex not seeing that movies as much as he loves cars! ![]()

I took Alex Sunday (She's 4). We also had at least 20 - 30 minutes of previews, and with a 2 hour movie, she was bouncing around after an hour... It is a really cute movie and you'll enjoy it. If the theater is not crowded, I would recommend coming in to sit after the previews run.
