After making our first trip over Easter, we discovered there has been some kind of process "correction" taking place in the Veliky Novgorod region. For us - our AC had to go back on the registry for a short time (back off now).

At this point, we are in limbo waiting for court dates to progress again with the region. Anyone hearing anything substantive or progress?

No news to report, but sorry you are still in limbo Bill. I know your time will come around... but it sure is frustrating NOT knowing when that will be!

You've already had court, and NOW there is a delay? How strange. Is it possible that an appeal was filed during the 10 days post court? Though that's remotely possible, I think it is far more likely that they were unable to reach ALL of the relatives to sign papers prior to court, or found a new relative who had not been on their list before, and they are just waiting for another "appeals" period as a matter of course. Surely, you will hear something SOON. Best wishes, and let us know when you hear you can go!!

Cathvash - sorry for the confusion. We were set to travel for our court date when we got the word the day before we were to leave to postpone. We heard that there was an error in Russia which effectively created the situation for some of the children in the region to go back on the registry (our son already spent an extra 4 months due to a previous error). We then resubmitted petition. Subsequently we were told that the submission of the new paperwork was not received and we are now beyond the reaccreditation deadline. Our agency is working with the MOE to prove the paperwork was received on time and hopefully we'll progress or we have to refile again and possibly wait for a reaccreditation issue to get resolved.


You might have seen a court date on our signature thread. This was for the adoption of our first son - who is the biological brother of the boy we are adopting now. We're obviously anxious to reunite the boys!
