Oh what a ride it's been!
Today is our six month family anniversary. A judge in Kemerovo decided on November 24, 2005 to make us a forever family!
These six months have been more stressful than I imagined...but as we hit this landmark - I realize just how worth it this has all been. We are having a cake tonight and the kids are making signs to hold during family pictures...they seem to understand the importance of this day. I got a card from Cole yesterday that said: "You are the best mom I've ever had. Thank you for adopting me! I love my family." Delaney uses our family as writing each day in her journal. I've been told she writes about her cool new brothers and all the great food she gets "in America"... Here are a few thoughts I have on my new babies! Cole is so intuitive. He wants to please very much...but just lately has come into his own and feels safe enough to "act like a fool" sometimes. He is incredibly FAST when running (I'm having dreams of olympic gold) and he is smart as a whip. His favorite thing to do is read or jump on the trampoline! What a blessing he has been. His toothless grin (will they EVER grow back in?) lights up our table and his silly voice (very strange emphasis in his language) cracks us all up. He's healthy as a horse - apart from bloody noses from time to time and eats ANYTHING we put in front of him. He really takes his time on school work and really, everything he does. He's still sitting at the table 20 minutes after we've all moved on...and he's STILL happy!!! Delaney is my little prima-donna! She wants to wear jewelry and dresses everyday if she could! She loves any and all attention and will sing and dance in store aisles to make me laugh. She has blossomed since being home...really - our first weeks together were full of tears and tempers...we've moved past that. She is still a pouty face, due mostly to big brothers picking on her. She is really picking things up in school. She can read and print very nicely. She takes directions and tries to "adapt" them to fit what she wants to do. She loves to give kisses - a million a day...and knows that those special kisses are just for us! She has a laugh that could make a villian smile and a voice that reminds me of youth! She says her favorite word is "mom" because I always answer (which may not actually be true...but I love that she believes it)! She'll do anything to watch TV...but tires of it quickly and plays outside non-stop! Rylie is blossoming into the big brother I grew up wishing I had. He certainly doesn't "cut" any breaks...but he is mostly fair and loving with both of them. He is a wonderful example to them both and even when he doesn't think I'm looking - he rubs their backs or tickles their feet. He is caring and compassionate and fiercely protective of them! I appreciate your indulgence while I share a few recent pics of all three of my treasures. Even on days where I wake up and feel lost - something, even something little happens that makes me feel found. And it almost always comes from one of these FANTASTICS!!!

Kretz, what a wonderful celebration and update. I'm sitting here beaming just thinking of you all.
Just to clarify is Rylie the beauty standing in the kitchen and Cole the beauty standing in the store?? Is the camera playing tricks or are your two boys looking very alike? Delaney is looking fantastic, I love that top she's wearing.
