Post Placement Schedules Change???

My agency told me yesterday that our 3rd homestudy would have to be postponed again. It was originally due April 23rd. Then we were told it couldn't be done until after April 23rd but before May 12th. Now we have to have it turned in by August 23rd. We were told that Russia isn't happy with the spacing of the report schedule. There isn't enough time to see progress/change between reports. So...it has apparently been changed. My caseworker promised me that this new schedule was accurate and that my studies wouldn't be late. Has anyone else's agency pushed their due dates back?

We just had our "2 year" visit last week....

and our SW just said "one more to go" at 3 years so that's all we've heard.

this makes me nervous.... it's so important to know that we are all on the same page and that this page is the russian government's page - oy!

is this something that JCICS would know? or is the scheduling different by region?

good grief!

The only change we were told is our next report can not be done more than one month prior to its due date. I know for our first one we did it two months before it was due and now they said that is no longer ok that it can not be done sooner than 4 weeks prior to its due date. Quick turn around to get it to Russia but by now we are all pros at expediting paperwork!

Well...that confirms at least part of what I've been told about not being able to do it before a certain date and not after another date.

I do want to make sure we do it right. Our agency has been excellent with all our paperwork.....no glitches ever. So I do trust what they are telling me.

Our agency said the schedule was being bumped up so the reports would be due earlier.

Maybe this is just my agency and making sure they get the reports on time though. The way the schedule changed it made our report due the week we found out about the change. I hope it was done on time! My agency handles all the post placements and contacts me when they are due. i just have to do the social worker thing and send the pictures to the agency.

If your agency has always been good with paperwork [as has mine], I'd trust what they say. They don't want your reports to be late either.

This is interesting as I was always questioning the due dates of the PP reports w/ our agency who was umbrellaed under a facilitating company (leaving names off). They were due at 4 mo, 10 mo, 20 mo and 30 mo. Russia's requirements were 6, 12, 24 and 36. This made no sense to me. You can see the big difference btwn 20/24 and 30/36. I was always told it was due to the report needing to be translated, which made no sense when the first two PP's were only 2 mos earlier than their due date. I could be off base, but what I think has happened is that Russia is enforcing the original date requirements it had in place and they can not be done any sooner than 1 month prior to their due date. Just my thought. As we were to be doing our last PP today in fact for my son who will be home 3 years in November and the report was to be due in May, but it is now due in October. So, I dont know if anything has really changed w/ Russia, I think Russia is just hammering down on the guidelines the agencies/facilitators were using.

Cheryl,

I think you are right. We are working with an agency that is under another facilitating agency's umbrella as well. As it would have it.....I had the same questions now that I think of it about the differing schedules you just mentioned. I think you are exactly right!!!! Thank you!!!! It makes sense to me now.

We just received an update last night which stated that ppr couldnot be done any longer than 2 months prior to due date, so for us instead of doing it in May as scheduled it is now in June and they need our HS agency to turn it around in 2-3 weeks, which I confirmed that they could (thankfully).
