Talking tempting the adoption gods!

I am on pins & needles waiting for a court date...

I go to Texas A&M University for photography courses every April, and plan to hunt down the infamous Mike in Texas, and of course stop in Dallas and hang with crazy Ms. Lola & Olya... and if THAT isnt enough,
to swing fate in my direction..
I also went out and had a
massive shopping spree!

The joke in our house is, that we will always stay in the mode of:
"A coat of paint
& some great donations!"

The hand painted fairies would quietly disappear,
and the PRACTICAL wardrobe would go to a good home.
ALWAYS GENERIC
NEVER PERSONAL! Ü

The room has sat there completely finished since Sept 03,
when we tried adopting through foster care.

But today, I let loose and bought specific stuff for SUMMER!
not just a girl!!! ÜÜ

Fun books & toys, and kitchen sets (someone has to cook in this house! Be quiet votemom & Lola!!!)
Pink bows for her hair, stuffed animals and a doll that can take a bath with her! Baby shampoo and
(a hint at her age!--> pull ups!
tooth brushes and soft new yellow sheets, fluffy lime green pillows and a lamp for her bedside....

yes! Take THAT!!
I have even booked our vacation home on the beach this summer!!!
ok and Delta may go on strike this month (we are counting on our wonderful flying benefits!!)
Certainly THAT would make a court date happen!???

CAN ANYONE THINK OF ANYTHING
IVE MISSED??

Let the wild rumpus begin!!!
Rain

Rain,

Summer's stuff sounds fantastic. I'll add my best wishes that the phone rings for you soon and you're off quickly (using your flight benefits) to pick up your precious little girl. And if you have to cancel, I'm sure Mike and Lola will understand. (wink!)

Crossing fingers that you hear something soon.

You might consider getting sick or breaking a bone or something that would make it really difficult to travel. I know last year I had just gotten out of the hospital with pnemonia when they called for us to go get Jake. All kidding aside, I really pray you get a call soon.

Rain,

You go girl!!! I also held out for so long not shopping for my dd before I let loose. Boy was that fun, reading your post made me smile from the memories. Before I knew how old my dd would be I bought bigger sizes...she is now wearing the largest of these. Whenever I put her in one of these I still think of how I bought it before she was "offically my daughter" and get a bit misty. You will be on the "other side" with your dd before you know it. Hang in there!

Oh I just know this is gonna be YOUR week...(hopefully God is listening...please!) How exciting about shopping for YOUR little girl! One thing on pull-ups...Pampers makes some too...easy ups...I think...they fit different than the pull ups....just in case.

Based on her age...maybe a bike or trike? Something for outside is always fun...even simple things like bubbles and chalk. Do you have a pool...if so, bathing suits...someone got me one for Arianna's shower and I thought that was a great idea.

Puh-lease let this be 'the week.'

Rainy - I've told you, there is nothing I wish more than for you NOT to be able to meet up here at Texas A&M. Indeed, the entire family would understand. We're still praying for you!!!! Mike

Well there you go. You made plans. That should be enough to get that phone ringing. You never know, maybe HE was waiting for you to get the room ready for Summer first. I pray that you get that long awaited phone call this week before Easter!!

Pessimistic me agrees with Kendall: I got my call to travel eleven months into the process, and one week after I found out I was pregnant.... Do something that makes the travel REALLY inconvenient! (booking the summer house was a good thing...)
But I certainly agree with all the others that I hope you miss your photography class because you are on an airplane to Russia. I'll send travel vibes your way!!

I know that I already posted this, but I can't help posting this bare naked wisdom again:

"Well you know that it's going to be all right.
I think it's going to be all right.
Everything will always be all right
When you go shopping."

So, I think you're on the right track...

Praying for your SUMMER plans!
Kate
