First Birthday
As many of you know we just returned last Monday from trip one. If it wasn't hard enough leaving her there.... today is first birthday. We wanted so much to be there when she turned one or better yet home with her.

Can you say a little prayer for her? That she is safe, healthy, and happy.

Can you also say a prayer for us? We were told that it could be up to 3 to 6 weeks in between trips. It took the last two families from our agency (in our region) one month to get their release letters. With the extended wait of course we worry about her, but we also worry that we will loose her. So I am asking for everyone to pray for us to get our release letter/court dates quickly and that no other Russian family tries to adopt her.

I surely hope so much that you return quickly to bring your daughter home. Then you can have a wonderful (late) birthday party for her. I can imagine the pain today. Hang in - you are almost there!

I missed my daughter's second birthday by a couple of weeks. Although her birthday was an especially had day to wait, I kept reminding myself that it was the last birthday that she would be alone. Also, remember, she doesn't know it is her birthday. So it is harder on you than her.

Wishing your little lady a happy birthday and a speedy trip home!

Nov 06 dossier made it through the Embassy, now
it's on its way to Kaz!!
Dec 06 dossier at the first Ministry (MFA)
Jan 06 dossier now at second Ministry (MOE)
One more to go.....that's the regional one
Still hoping for LOI (letter of invitation) in Jan
Jan 31---dossier still at MOE, no LOI in Jan
Feb 16--We know our region--Karaganda Kaz.
Last step in the process--wait for LOI
March 15 07--received LOI
Left for Kaz March 21
Paperwork glitch but decided to stay while it was handled (hence the long time between leaving for trip and court)

Hi Kerry,

I will say a prayer for you. I understand how hard it is..I am in the same boat. My older one turns 3 today...and we are still not together.

We went out and bought him a few presents for his birthday today. I am going to wrap them and have a BIG birthday party for him when he gets home
