Your 13 year old should really enjoy the trip. Make sure you brief him that there will be times when mom and dad are very busy and will not be able to pay attention to him. Be prepared with things he can do independently. Congrats on your court date!

Umm, take a sippy cup anyway. We brought Hunter home at 13-months. We planned to put him back on the bottle. HE had other ideas. We had to scramble to find a cup!!

Best of luck with your little one!!

Hi there - Alex was already on a bottle..so we didn't have a choice...but I sure was glad, because we cuddled and loved and made eye contact while he took his bottle. I would suggest it...personal choice. She is going to be younger than her 2.5 yrs anyway...so it seems like a good thing.

I will call you this afternoon - gotta take the niece back home.

We put our 4 year old back on a bottle in the evening for bonding purposes. I think it was a good decision and helped with attachment. We used the bottle in conjunction with rocking and promoting eye contact.

Good luck on your trip and congrats on your adoption!

Congratulations!!!! What awesome news!

Knowing what I now know about attachment, I believe I'd go with the bottle. I've read that some people do the same type of holding but with a sippie cup, but not sure how that would work... perhaps some of those individuals will comment. Regardless, any and all attachment behaviors you can do, I would strongly advise it.
