My husband and I are contemplating a Russian adoption. I was wondering how long the process takes from dossier submission to travel in the Moscow region ?

In all honesty the times vary greatly!! There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why. Choose your agency very carefully. But even that doesn't guarantee that your adoption will move along quickly. You can look at people's signatures at the bottom of their posts to get an idea of how long different adoptions have taken (are taking). Good luck and welcome to the boards.

We completed our adoption of a beautiful 13 mth old boy in June 05. Our dossier was registered in Moscow Region in Nov 04, and we received our Trip one travel invite at the end of March 05 and travelled the first week of April. Our court was then in June 05. We were expecting to travel in Jan 05, but due to the changes in database requirements, etc, had to wait until April to travel. Others with our agency travelled within 2 mths of their dossier registration. I don't know what the region is like now because our agency just received their reaccreditation (was without accreditation for 7 mths). I hope this helps a little.

In a different thread, someone indicated that the Moscow region may now be requiring 3 trips instead of 2. That extra expense might be a consideration for you in choosing a region. Ask your agency about that new requirement...
