Russian posters
We want to do our new study with a couple of russian posters. Does anyone know what this poster says?
And besides artxxx, does anyone have any suggestions as to where to find non-military/fighting/propaganda posters like this one? Thanks! Edited to remove retail url.

Nice poster.
"Вперед К Коммунизму" at the top means "Forward To Communism" The book the man and the woman are holding up says: "Программа КПСС". "It means Program of the CPSU" CPSU is the acronym for Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Based on the style of the people depicted, their attire, and the things depicted - especially the rocket - I'd wager that this is a Communist Party propaganda poster from the late 1950's or early 1960's. Wish I could tell you where to find more posters, but I don't know. I'd search on Google and eBay. I bought some cool reproductions of WWII posters from a bookstore on Tverskaya Street about half-way between Red Square and one of the Marriotts. What is the "study" you are referring to? Is it a post-placement report? I'd be a little reluctant to have this kind of poster in a post-placement report. Communism didn't exactly take a lot of those who will read the report very far forward. And the may not appreciate being reminded of it. Alternatively there are those in Russia with a lot of nostalgia for the communist era and posters like that. I just don't know enough about prevailing attitudes in Russia and the kinds of reaction the image of that poster might evoke. If you can, I'd ask someone who is living in Russia right now whether they think it would be a good idea.

I'd also classify this one as a propaganda piece. It says something along the lines of "The Future of Communism" and "Program KPCC". In addition to the meaning presented in the post above, it could also (tongue in cheek) represent the Pasadena radio station KPCC which has done a huge number of programs on Soviet History. It's affiliated with the University of Southern California.

Bump for adding the image of the poster after the link has been edited (violates ToS becuase it goes to a fee-based website).

Ahhh, I see. You know there is just no interior decorator in me.
That would b a cool theme. I'd look on eBay, I saw a buch there. Most are communist propaganda or related to destroying the fascist swine in the Great Patriotic War. However, there were some for ordinary consumer products too.
