Hey all,
I've been out of the loop for the last little bit. Last time I checked in here, Russian adoption had all but come to a halt. What's the status now? Please update.

People are getting referals, traveling and completing adoptions. Some regions are difficult; some less so. Nothing has stopped in all but a few regions.

you forgot to add that 28 agencies are still waiting for reaccreditation...and those agencies are at a stand still unti they are reaccredited. No date in sight for reaccreditation either! It is coming up on a year that they have been without accreditation.


Regions ar emaking up new rules everyday. If I had not already met my children, I would not touch Russian adoptions. i wouls find a country that wants their children to be adopted.

Adoptions have become a bit more difficult since we arrived home in April. Long story short, you now have to get 8 doctors to sign off on your medical form and a psychological clearance. (Of course, some of this may be region specific.) There's also a lot of political "stuff" going on!

Not all regions do you have to get the 8 doctors sign off but it certainly seems to be heading that way. My agency is currently accredited and getting referrals and the region they work in does not require the 8 doctor as of a few months ago.

So be sure to check out only accredited agencies and how things are goinig in the different regions they work in and if you can specify a region.
