Unhappy OT: It's Officially Winter in Chicago

It's officially winter in Chicago. Forget the Winter equinox in December, when its's so cold that I break out my Russian ushanka [ушанка] hat to go to work, it's winter time!

LOL! You are too funny!

Thanks for the reminder that it does still get cold elsewhere in this country...80's today in Florida.

Funny! I can relate though, it is pretty cold in PA today, although probably not as cold as Chicago.

Love the Sears Tower in the background.

We live in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Yesterday my five year old wanted to play in the snow! I love Chicago in the winter, but wasn't quite ready yet - don't even know where our winter hats are!

We live in Wisconsin and I was not ready either--had to look way in the back of the closet for the snowpants and boots to take to preschool. Brrrrrrr!

So funny!! You guys are getting the cold stuff right on schedule. I used to regularly visit a good friend in Chicago every winter, when he'd always ask me again why he lived there!??? But then we'd check out a Bears game (back when the Bears were "Da Bears"), hit the great restaurants and awesome museums, then go watch the Cubbies in the spring, and by then he'd remember again...You have great stuff there! just tough winters.

Thanks for the memories of some cold but fun days.

I am sometimes tempted to wear my Ushanka too. I end telling myself I would look to dorky

I look dorky without it too. Plus I lose the rest of my vanity when I walk over a mile from the south concourse of Union Station to my office every morning, and then back again each evening. But at least I don't have to go as far as Schnooks.

My hubby bought a similar hat. Well, he did bring home a better and cuter souvenior

Funny pic! I am glad it does not get cold enough to wear the hat in Texas. Although, I bet he will try and get by with it
