Happy Birthday Maddox!
Well technically it is October 3rd in Russia and that means it is our son's 1st birthday!
 I'm just sad that I can't be with him on this day, I guess the only comfort I can have is that he doesn't know the difference at his age!  We just thought for sure we would have him home for his birthday when we first met him on June 29th. We hope to get a court date very soon, hopefully we will have one in less than 2 weeks. I hope we can travel before October's end. Happy Birthday Maddox! Mommy and Daddy miss you terribly!!! Nichole

It will be such a HAPPY BIRTHDAY for him, not only this year but in the years to come when he is able to understand that his first birthday wish came true before he even knew to wish it... God has brought him a loving Mamma and Daddy to love him forever. I am praying that you get your court date and i am msad that you cannot hold your baby today but I know that you are both holding him ever so tight in your hearts. With hugs prayers and love to the three of you!

Sorry Nichole.... it's a lousy feeling.
But I hope you can find a way to celebrate his life, even tho he is not with you. Take pix, however you choose to honor his day. They can go in his Life Book. We made a videotape last year on Sash's birthday. Everyone gave a special message to him, individually, then we sang and showed the cake and candles.

Happy Birthday Maddox!!
We stood in court 25 days after Hunter's first birthday. Like you, we were sure we would get him home before then. It was very hard. Fast forward almost 8 months and we're just plotting to make the 2nd one an event to remember. We had a small party about 3 weeks after he came home, but we were afraid of overstimulation. Just remember that you may miss the first one, but you get all the rest!!! Best of luck. I hope you get the court date soon!!
