OT...running from Katrina!
I know this stupid storm hit some of you over there in Fl. Well, it is headed my way now. We are ducking out of here early tomorrow. I just wanted to offer my prayers to those of you in the same predicament. We will be out of pocket for a few days, but I will be hoping and praying that you all hear good news soon.
It was about this time last year when Ivan was coming at us and just about wrecked my plans for trip #2. That storm took a quick turn and we were saved and i got to go get my beautiful son. I still remember the stress it caused me trying to battle with mother nature over plane rides and trip dates. I hope none of you find yourselves in harm's way due to this weather. Best wishes while we keep our heads down...

Yes, best of luck! This storm left us in NW Broward relatively unscathed (our area has been so lucky!) but has done a lot of damage down south, and now it has turned into a bad one heading your way!
Glad you are getting out, and we"ll hope for the best. Melanie |

Our new son just survived his first hurricane - by sleeping through the storm! We are in Miami-Dade, and we got our phone line finally up today. We were still lucky; in our block, electricity was out for only 13 hours. To the people in Louisiana - I also hope that the storm will slow down - or I am simply praying for a miracle.

Prayers to all in Katrina's path
I wanted everyone to know that you are in my prayers if you are running from Katrina. Please be safe. I live in Beaumont TX and if anyone is evacuating here and need a place for their small dog to stay I will be more than happy to let it stay here. I will be calling the Humane Society tomorrow and leaving my name and number with them. I have 3 cats and 1 cocker so all I can take is a small dog. Please feel free to e-mail me to make arrangements.
-Steffanie

I hope everyone escaped unscathed. I saw a lot of the Atlanta airport over the last 2 days (job interview in the SE) watching CNN and seeing people stranded (including me) for hours waiting to get out and that was a long way from where it came in at. I was just looking at some of the devastation on the net....wow.
