Hi everyone!

Would anyone care to share if they sent out adoption announcements, or if they're going to send out annoucements? I'm having such a hard time figuring out what to have printed on them.....and I cant seem to find any samples on the internet. I'd love any suggestions that you all might have!

Do a search there have been threads on this topic with a lot of wonderful and creative announcements on the Russian board and I believe the Guat board has had several threads too.

I sent about 100 - 3 weeks after getting home.

We plan on sending announcements when our adoption is complete (court date Aug 30th!). I found a website with some nice ideas and announcement with St. Basil's in the background. It is at www.picturemeperfect.com We haven't decided on the wording yet. At present something along the lines of "Holy %^$#(& it finally happened" seems appopriate but I am sure I will choose something more tasteful when the time comes.

Lippy - that is too funny - because that's really what you want to say isn't it!!! Some others - I think it was skiboo - had some really cool ones they posted...I never got my act together enough to send any out but I wish I did...It's one of those things you should do while you wait - our trips were so close together and over the holidays so it just didn't happen.

That was the inside of a folded card. The front was a collage of pics, focused on her, and the new family. I made it using a Hallmard software program.

We just used a photo announcement we liked from an online website called "snapfish". They were very reasonably priced (Around $10 for 20 of them including envelopes). They had different designs for borders, but our sons room is a western theme so we did one that said "There's a new sheriff in town" preprinted on the card and it had a horse shoe and some stuff like that. We had a picture of him printed in the middle. We personalized it very simply with "Jaxon Gregory Last name (1st line), born March **, 2004, (2nd line), officially a part of our family May 11, 2005 (3rd line), and then my dh's and my name.

Ours was definitely not fancy, but with the money we had just spent on our trip, I wanted to get as nice an announcement as possible for as cheap as possible.
