How long after getting a referral

We got our referral today! We'll get the info via Fed Ex tomorrow. How long is it, typically, from referral to 1st travel date?

Thanks

This totally depends on how things are going in the region. For our 2001 adoption, we waited 4 months (summer holiday, slow region).

In 2005, we're caught in a post-reaccreditation backlog. Apparently the MOE is issuing travel invites by databank release date. They're on Nov 2004. We're Jan 2005. Hopefully it won't be too long -- She's 13-1/2 months and counting.

Hope you don't have to wait long, but I think Caligemini's 1 week is more of an exception than the rule. (Lucky duck, Cali!!)

Good luck. I hope your referral is "perfect."

We have accepted 3 referrals, one in St. Pete's, one in Krasnodar, and one in Astrakhan. We waited three months for the first trip for babies one and two. So far, it's been two months waiting for trip one for baby number three. We expect it will be another month still before we travel. So, for us, 3 appears to be the magic number..

To Kim OH/
I guess this depends on the region. I know of a couple whose child came off the database in March. They had court in May. Our child came off in May. Our agency was expecting a court date for us for the end of June. I am wondering whether this will still happen...

well we were before the changes, so we had to wait one month for our son to come off the registery, otherwise it probably would have been quick. We got his referral 6/14, he came off registery 7/15, we left 7/28 for russia.

So it really depends on the region and the situation.

It was exactly 2 weeks for us. We got our travel dates the same day we got our referral. (Moscow Region).
