Can we start a thread with how long everyone has been waiting and what child you are waiting for? Let's define the start of waiting as when you turned in your completed dossier. OK?

Waiting since November 2004 for a GIRL less than 18 months.

Submitted part 1 dossier, my agency does things a little different on 5/3. Got a call on 5/6 that they had a referral of a 10 month old baby girl. Just getting medicals checked out, so far so good. Might make trip 1 the end of May. She comes of the registry on 5/22 and I can travel any time after 5/24.

Submitted dossier 5/2/2005. I'm told to expect a referral of a 1.5-3 year old girl around the end of May and travel in June or July!

That makes NO SENSE whatsoever!? Waiting 2 years is unheard of, unless there are extenuating circumstances, but is certainly isnt the norm.

We have been waiting since Feb 17,2005. We are hoping to bring home a baby girl, as young as possible or under 18 months.

We submitted dossier in Sept. '04, and just received an infant male referral. It was, and still is, very hard
to read about other families getting their referrals much more quickly. But our referral is really healthy, so i can't begrudge the system too much.

Keep holding on waiters! Hopefully, it will mean you get to travel quickly.

I have actually considered changing agencies but know that we will be looking at another long wait. My agency claims that we were within the 9-12 month normal wait period (for a healthy girl under 15 months) until the December shutdown.

It is so hard to read about other people's quick referrals and I try to stay off the boards as a result. However, I am always afraid that I might miss something.
