I was wondering if anyone had problems with the company that performed their homestudy? We are considering using one agency for our international adoption, but can not use them also for our homestudy because they do not have an office near us. We are considering using another nationally known agency to perform our homestudy. Could you PM me if you have had trouble with an agencies homestudy or even if you had good luck with an agency, so maybe we could consider some other opportunities?

We did the same and had no problems, other than the agency we used for our home study was slow. But that seems to be the norm where we are. Personally, I feel that the agency that's facilitating the adoption in Russia is the most important part of the equation, and you should go with the one you are most comfortable with. The home study is only a part of the process, and it's more important to know you have an agency you trust working for you on the actual adoption part of the journey.

And make sure your home study agency is 100% willing to work with your placing agency to get the home study written according to the placing agency's requirements.
