Never fly (**Russian Airline**!)
I had the absolute most horrible consumer experience with this airline in my entire life. I would not recommend my ex-wife to even fly with this airline. I won't go into detail(unless you PM me), but ********made a mistake in my children's tickets and I got stuck one extra night in Moscow at a $250/night hotel, still had to pay the penalty fee to change tickets and had to fly into Seattle instead of LA. Since I live in AZ, I had tickets from LA to home. Well, of course I had to change those tickets as well. A loud shout out to Southwest Airlines who listened to my Fathers explanation(we were still in Russia) and only charged a total of $200 to change the tickets last minute like that. That is why Southwest is a great airline and will get my return business.
Bottom line, ********as a whole is extremely rude, insincere and uncompassionate. They make mistakes and then make you pay for them. Also, watch out. I got 3 different ticket price quotes when I tried to buy tickets at the their office in the Moscow airport. The ticket agents obviously line their pockets. I know some of you will say******** is great; no problems. Well, I flew them my 1st trip and had no problems. What determines a companies integrity is when there are problems, how are they dealt with. Very poorly in my case. Oh, one last thing. When I got home I called the office in LA to speak with a supervisor. The lady said one was not available and asked why. I proceeded to explain and started to get the EXACT same treatment from her that I got in Russia. I raised my voice a bit and said that this is unacceptable and why am I being treated like you are doing me a favor by flying your airline. She said, no exageration, "I feel sorry for the kids that you take from my country that they have you as a Father. You yell like this and now the children are with you. They should stay in Russia not with you". That is TOTAL TRUTH, I affirm upon my savior that I am not exagerating. Sorry so long winded, just needed to vent. Waiting,
It is OK to vent, I feel your pain! However, the admin is likely to not look kindly on that post since (I think) it violates the rules about mentioning service providers... On the positive side, I would declare the whole thing to have a positive ending since you did get home with the gang!!! JCH13

What a rude comment!!! Shame on her!!!
We were warned of this airline and NOT to fly them from the US. We had to fly them inter-country, which was an interesting, funny, laughing hysterically experience.

We were told by the owner of the agency we used not to use them and she is Russian herself.
I do know some that have used them and I have heard mixed reviews. I am so sorry you had a bad experience. Vicki

Just have to put in my 2 cents worth. Your right, it is how a company handles problems when they arise. I won't disagree there, (now, for the but...) did you not check your tickets when you initally received them? We had a mistake on our little girls ticket. We went to the airlines office in L.A. and had it changed. (Yep, same airline as you). It definatlely is a no frills airline. You get what you pay for, in our case we saved over $1000.00 per adult ticket. In our daughters case the ticket was only $92.00 not $300. like some other American carriers. We had the bulkhead seats and the baby bassinet. Our daughter played ate and slept in the carrier. The stewardess even came up to us and allowed us to use the first class bathroom and if we needed anything to go ask up front. (hot water, etc.). Overall we were happy with the flight. Although no movies there or back. No video working. Thanks for listening.

Your comment about the video is funny. My Russian coworker said that the video is "allways broken" on the flights. That's B.S. They have to pay to show the movie on the plane and they are too cheap to do it!
Anybody have a good experience with this airline? I am considering the business class b/c I can fly direct to Moscow from Washington, D.C. and we would have more legroom, etc. |

Thanks for the photo! I haven't been able to figure out what ya'll have been talking about when you refer to the bassinet or carrier. Now I see. What a cute baby, too!

TOTALLY agree!!
We flew this airline for our 1st trip for our son's adoption. NEVER again! Yup, we paid more for the subsequent flights, but I swore up and down that we would never fly that Russian airline again. First of all, the flight was notoriously late -- about 4 hours, every single time. Secondly, the man next to us on the plane actually got up to smoke in the lav.. and several times to boot. He kept getting up and came back smelling like smoke. I could not figure it out. Then I saw him put a cigarette and lighter into his hand and take it back with him. Since that is banned on all flights, the lav's smoke detectors obviously were not working.. and that made me worry about what else may not be working. The food was awful (some terrible rubbery smoked fish thing), too.
I'm sure, as you are, OP, that there are good experiences.. and some don't care about frills, treatment, etc as long as they get there. But I thoroughly enjoyed my flights the other 3 times (our son's 2nd trip, and both of our daughter's trips), and I certainly can NOT say the same thing for that other airline!

I can understand your being upset, I would be too if it had happened to us. We flew Aeroflot from Paris to Moscow and back for our first trip. We had a pleasant experience. Good Food, Flight left on time (unlike all of our other connecting flights on Continental - all 4 connections were several hours late). I even felt like it was more comfortable. The crew was nice as well....maybe we were lucky???
Going to fly Delta for trip two...we are expecting nothing but good service of them....we'll see.
