I know it's dumb to worry about, but I am a worrier by nature.

We had court on April 14. If you are counting only business days from then, today is the 10th day including court. Does the wait begin on the day of court or the day after?

I realize this is something most people don't think about even, but I watch my clock, and at 4 PM, sigh with relief and say, "Well, Day 8 is over", etc.

We can't go back to get him until a week from Saturday(May 7) because of next week's holiday, and may not even take custody of him until Tuesday, May 10, which is Ok because it's my birthday!!

I guess I've waited 6 months since seeing his picture. Another week-week and a half won't destroy me.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question about the 10 day wait. I hope you'll get the answer though because we are waiting on trip 2 to Moscow City and will soon be wondering the same thing. However, we were told [maybe agency specific] that it's not really a 10 day wait, but a 2 week wait and that it included weekends. Maybe the inclusion of weekends is why ours is 2 weeks? Guess that would make sense.

I always thought that day one of the wait was the day after court, but I am not sure on that.

Good luck and enjoy your time in Moscow! We'll be staying there the entire time for trip 2. I think a hotel will get old fast!

It starts the day after court, and it is 10 days. NOT business days, so weekends do count! Also, you do not get your child on the 10th day. It is actually the next day. I hope this helps. I hate that you have to wait more days. I hope they fly by!

Each region is different so take all advice with a grain of salt. We went to court on March 4th and recieved custody on March 15th. Weekends did count, but as one day instead of two. It was somewhere between calander days and business days. Hope this helps.

If weekends count, even if only as 1 day, my wait was over yesterday! Like I said, we still can't get him for a few more days, but what a relief!

We just returned April 16 from Moscow City with our son. The 10-days starts the day after your court date and includes Saturdays but not Sundays. Our court date was on a Tuesday, and our 10-day period ended the following Saturday. Our facilitator picked up the court decree from the courthouse on Monday morning, and we were able to pick up our son from the orphanage late Monday morning.
