If anyone knows of an agnecy who is accredited past May please let me know. I think the last of the agencies that are still accredited run out in May.

You are correct. According to my agency, they are one of three left that are still accredited. There are no more agencies after May that will be accredited!

From what we have been told by our agency is that the MOE is planning on beginning the re-accreditations by mid-May. Of course, we have been hearing things like this for months now, so lets keep our fingers crossed that it really does happen this time around.

According to the US Embassy website in Moscow on May 11th the last couple of agencies' accrediations will expire.

Here is the quote from the US Embassy in Moscow.


Of the 48 adoption agencies that held licenses to operate in Russia, only eight presently hold valid accreditations. Three of the eight will expire April 5; the remainder, on May 11.

I do find it interesting that the list from the Russian Embassy has 51 on its list and only 48 on the US Embassy info.

I didn't see my agency's name on the list. Should I be worried?

Your agency might work under the umbrella of another larger agency or might work with a "sister" agency which basically means they use the other agencies accreditation to complete adoptions. Contact your agency to find out.

My agency told me today (Tuesday, 4/19) that they just got an email stating that they will be re-accredited on May 10.

I'm sure if one agency is getting re-accredited, then others must be as well.

Our agency has told us that as of last week, the courts are not issuing any new invitations for an indefinite period of time due to an "internal inspection". Has anyone else heard this?

Can you explain new invitations? Is that referrals your agency is talking about? what invitation would they issue regarding the reaccreditation? or is the invitation the reaccreditation? Any light you can shed would be helpful -

I was about to scream a Yahoo! Then I read the next post. LOL!

OK, so now we have to determine which it is.......are agencies really going to start being reaccredited as of May 10th (pray pray pray) or are there hold ups due to internal inspections like Jeff's agency has said?

If anyone has any news either way I'd love to hear it! We'll be traveling about 2 months after our agency is reaccredited to bring home our daughter, so I'm going nuts here searching for news.
