quote for adoption announcements

I am looking for a nice quote to go on our adoption announcements (when ever that happy event actually happens). Maybe a nice bible verse or something about faith or a long journey worth the wait, etc. Any thoughts?

Thanks-
Kat

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.
---1 Samuel 1:27

Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.
I will say to the north, `Give them up!' and to the south, `Do not hold them back.'
Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth--
--- Isaiah 43: 5-6

And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.
--- Matthew 18:5

Like cold water to a weary soul, is good news from a distant land.
--- Proverbs 25:25

I have a few more here

A little girl born in a far away land,
God has chosen us to hold her hand,
Our new little girl has so much love to share,
A little blessing forever in our care!

I love this one!

My quote won't help you, but we used a sense of humor: "the stork was having a hard time finding us, so we found the stork!"

I plan on using this when the time comes:

(Name of child)
was born into the world on
(Birthdate)
and was born into our hearts on
(Gotcha date)

Every child is a gift from God. Some just take longer to find their way home.

Smile how about Luke 11:9-10

Ask and it will be given to you;seek and you will find;knock and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

This really applies to the adoption we are experiencing. I have asked and am waiting to receive. I know my kids went seeking their child and they are knocking on Russia's door to release their baby.

I searched the internet & used lines from several announcements/poems that I found to create ours.

Though not of our creation,
Our child by God's design.

Brought to us on the wings of a dove,
we promised to give him everything, especially love.
Two small hands and two small feet,
a tiny miracle to make our lives complete.

Thank you Lord for a beautiful son to love,
thank you for this blessing you sent from above.

I loved planning my adoption announcement.

I used the phrase -

A Little Girl from a distant land and
I've been chosen to hold her hand.
Name
Born in Tver, Russia
Birthdate
Placed in her mother's loving arms
October 8, 2003
My Name

I placed the wording in the upper right hand corner over a black and white picture of me with my daughter. She is holding my hand at the orphanage during our first meeting.

We have been home 18 months and I still find it on people's refrigerators. I use that as my signal that it had impact.

Sounds like some beautiful announcements were created from the ideas listed above. Good luck with yours.

As silly as it sounds, with so far to go in the process, my announcement is done!

Although, (finally) we had our home study, it was very successful, and our child search will start right away!!!

So.....all of a sudden we're "catching up". Yay!!! I am joyful!!

Anyway, mine starts with "From Russia with Love" (corny I know but couldn't resist) then gives our names and our joyful announcement, her name, her date of birth, and her "forever" home" date. Probably the date we took custody in Russia????

Or would you use the date you landed back in the US??

Not sure about that, but then we will end with the quote from the book of Samuel

"For this child I prayed".... Samuel 1:27

Thanks for all the great ideas! This is much more fun than planning to update all of our expired paperwork!
