EAC Families - Going to the Picnic?

On this rainy Sunday (and the first day of spring), I can't help but think about summer plans. I will be traveling from NJ to Cleveland for the EAC picnic with my little one this year to kick off the summer. Will anyone else be attending? I would love to try to meet up with any forum friends during my whirlwind tour to Cleveland.

Hope to meet some of you there.

It's a 12-hour drive for us, but we're sure as heck going to try to make it. We swore we would if we ever got Hunter home...and he's here and he even has a few fat rolls!!

We'll be there. It's about a 6hr drive for us. Kevin has a grandma and aunt & uncle there who have not met the kids yet. We hope to spend Sunday with them.

Where is everyone planning to stay. It looks like the airport Marriot is the main hotel. We haven't made reservations yet, but plan to soon.

We are staying at the Marriott. I don't know if they have rooms left. We will have to try to find a point that we can try to meet at the hotel or at the zoo.

Let me know if your plans finalize - I would love to meet you guys.

I still haven't seen anything to actually register for the picnic itself. Let me know if you see something before me.

I am getting really excited about this weekend.

We're going! We have been planning this since we have been home in June. We can't wait to see old friends again and meet new ones.

Melissa - I can't believe that you are coming from TX. I will be so thrilled to meet you and your family! I have your little guy's picture on my refrigerator.

This should be cool. I can't wait to meet you all!

Laura - I can't wait to mee the dynamic duo - Hayden and Helena. This will be great if you are in the Marriott too.

Not this year. DH doesn't have enough vacation time available.
Only a 12-14 hr drive, maybe next year.
Have fun everyone.

We aren't going this year because we'll be in Dallas that weekend for graduation.

We went last year and the weather was gorgeous. Just a thought for those of you wanting to meet up...do NOT plan to meet around the pavillion where the EAC festivities are. There are soooo many people and its just a zoo (haha..no pun intended). I suggest planning to meet somewhere else and going there together.

Last year, my nephew fell and cracked his head and in the craziness of that, my FIL put Aidan down and my little man took off toward balloons. We couldn't find him in the sea of people. I'm sure it was only a few seconds but it felt like a lifetime. It was a nightmare. We swore we'd never go to the Pavillion for lunch ever again.

Not wanting to turn anyone off...we just were not prepared for the throngs of people.

Hopefully the weather is great!

Our main reason for going is to meet up with the other families we traveled with. We have been to 5 of the picnics. This year the only other family planning to attend was going for the same reason we were. So instead of the picnic we are going to their house in MI for the weekend. We will try again next year to make the picnic.

Count us in!

We will definitely be there! We too are staying at the Marriott. I just can't wait to see all these EAC families together! We should all wear name tags with our user names on them so we can identify each other! LOL

Which night are you guys staying? Our older kids don't get out until about noon (last day of school) and there is no way we can drive it all in one night. Is anybody staying Saturday night? I'm trying to decide whether anybody will be at the Marriott that night.

I fly in Friday and fly out Sunday - as I know at least 2 other families are doing. We will be at the Marriott Friday and Saturday nights.

I hope that you may be settling in at home by the time of the picnic. We will see you another year.
