Lost Passport

Hello,

I received my passport within days of submission; my husband still had not received his 6 weeks after submission, so he called today to check on its status. Apparently, it was issued on Dec 13th! We have never received it. So now they are sending us a form of nonreceipt to fill out and return. My question is has anyone had to deal with this and if so how long does it take to get the passport reissued or do we have to start all over again?

Thanks, Kim

Not quite the same, but...

I lost my passport, and had to get a new one. The paper for lost/unreceived passports is pretty simple, and you can turn it in when you apply for the passport again. I think you have to start over with a new application because they need a picture, but I could be wrong. Good luck, and the form shouldn't keep you from receiving another passport quickly.

Slightly different situation, but we were first supposed to travel for trip one back in May and had 10 days notice. My agency wrote a letter stating we had to travel within 10 days, and I drove to Seattle, WA (we live in Portland) with the letter and my old passport (I had to have my name changed) They did it that day. If you are on a short timeline, you can go in person to a passport office for faster service. I'm not sure if they could have issued a brand new passport - but it's worth a call if you get down to the wire.
