It's been awhile since we did this - I know we've had a couple of variations - with the waiting for referral and waiting for dates threads - but I thought we could get everyone (including those in the research/paperwork part) on this one-

DH and I are from MA - adopting our first child, we've been on trip one and are waiting for a court date. Our child is in St. Petersburg.

Aimee and Matt in the process of adopting our little girl. Our court date has been set for January 20th!! Can not wait to go and get her. She is in Volgograd!

My wife and I, living in College Station, TX with our two boys (6 and 2) are adopting a 5-year old girl from Ulan-Ude. We traveled for trip 1 the first week of November. After a couple of weeks of wondering, we finally found out this week that we have our database slip! So, we are waiting for a court date.

DW and I are from La Grangre, Illinois (15 miles southwest of Chicago). We have a referral for a 9 month old little boy in Ul'Yanovsk and are awaiting medical information on him. We have no children yet or pets.

We are heading into month 4 of the wait for a baby girl. We just enjoyed our last no baby Christmas with our two dogs - Lucy and Desi and our two kittys - Zoe and Chloe. We live in Tampa, Florida.

My husband and I live in Wisconsin. We hosted a sibling group this Summer and hope to travel within the first few months of 2005 for court date. Christmas was almost unbearable.

DH and I visited our baby girl at the end of Nov and now are awaiting a court date. I too hope things start rolling quick with the databank slips. Wow, MikeinTexas, that's great that you heard you got your databank release slip this week! I hope that means good news coming soon for the rest of us!!

DH and I live in Houston, TX with our lhaso apso, Gizmo. We are (not so patiently) waiting for a referral for a baby girl from Volgograd!

DH and I live in Elmhurst, IL...waiting for our 1st trip, which we hope will be in February. We adopted from Samara in Nove 2003 and were called in Sept 2004 about his biological sister.

We live in South Elgin, IL. We have an orange marmelade tabby named BratCat who is 7 yrs old. Hayden and Helena are from Chita. Our "gotcha" date was 9/21/04. Hayden is 3 1/2 and Helena is almost 14 months.

DH and I (and our bad kitties) are in OK. We are in the thinking/researching phase. We have not given up hope yet of having a bio child, but we are researching adoption and trying to figure out 1) when we would want to take that step and 2) whether to go domestic or international. I will probably ask a zillion stupid questions along the way, so please bear with me.

BTW, I used to live in Alaska, where I picked up a tiny bit of Russian. The family of one of my dearest friends there has long hosted Russian exchange students and travelled frequently to Vladivostock (sp?). I also took several courses in Russian history, government and culture while in college, so if we do adopt internationally, we are definitely leaning towards Russia.
