My husband and I are adopting a 2 year old boy from Ekaterinburg. We have already met him, and currently we are waiting for a court date. We have been waiting for 4 months already. We have had to do a lot of extra paperwork for this region. We miss our little boy dearly, and we are just keeping our fingers crossed that we hear something soon after the Russian holidays. Hi! We completed an adoption out of Ekat. in March. Although we had just a few documents to chase down between trips, I understand the judge there is getting stricter and stricter. I also understand she's the only judge left there, the other guy left his job (which would explain your long wait). I really appreciate you lending advice if I need it. This has been very difficult on us, and especially since we met him and already love him so much.

I did hear that that the male judge resigned about a couple months ago. On my other group they mentioned something about a new judge replacing him, but not sure if that will change things much. I sure hope that it does because there is some of us that have been waiting since the begining of June. I have also heard that a few people were getting their court dates cancelled because of requests for further documents.

We found out that our documents are in the courts, and the judge requested a few updated documents. I sent those documents out last thursday, and our agency is getting them apostilled on Monday. It probably won't get to Ekat until the end of December. I know the judge is not issuing dates after 12/22. Our agency informed us we would not be going until after the Russian holidays (1/1-1/10), but they can't guarantee when after. It just seems that once we update something another document expires, very frustrating to say the least.
