Would you recommend....

Just a silly question, everyday I think of something new to ask or obsess about! LOL

After reading all the post of sick children and dehydration, would it be a good idea to take along some pedialyte? I work at a hospital and can get pedialyte for infants already in a bottle with nipple. What do you think? I just though it may come in handy, you never know!

Thanks!

Nichole

Take it. If you don't need it, likely someone else might and it's a good feeling to have something another parent needs.

Definetely do! We took a whole bunch of the ready to mix kind that comes in what looks like "Kool-Aid" packages (small packets) that can be mixed with ANY liquid. Twice on the "tween visit and the court trip Skip started with Diarrhea and with just one dose, he started to get over it. I HIGHLY recommend it! I ended up donated the extra packages (I had a ton of it!) to the baby home.

Certainly can't hurt! And if you havn't used it by the end of the trip, donate it and fill up the suitcase space with keep-sakes.

Our little girl had diarrhea while we were there, and we wished we'd had some pedialyte with us. We ended up pushing the juice and bottled water, but still some pedialyte would have been nice.

Definately a good idea to take it, you never know when your child may need it. Even now I always have some at home.

You can get the dry packs the same place you get the liquid.

I would like to know where you get the packets as well.

Also, one danger in long flights is dehydration. Since those mineral enhanced drinks are more effective in fending off dehydration than plain water (or especially sodas and juices for toddlers), I'd put it on my to-pack list for travel(ASSUMING, OF COURSE, THAT I EVER GET THE CALL!!!) to supplement bottles of formula.
