Question older children agencies?

Help! We're looking for a good agency that places older children, ages 4 and up. I have been so very frustrated trying to find a reliable one to count on that focuses on more than infants. Anyone with personal experience with an agency would be greatly appreciated.

Older Children

EAC has a special program called Alex's Angels - they are the biggest in Russia and are a good bet.

ICA

We just adopted our 10 year old daughter using International Christian Adoptions. I'd be happy to share information about them if you want to send me a PM.

They have a summer hosting program for older children and they are accredited in Russia. They are commited to older child adoptions as well as infant adoptions.

There is an agency in Silver Spring, MD called Cradle of Hope. They run a program for older children called Bridge of Hope. Basically you can host a kid (or kids) for several weeks in the summer. All of the kids come over from Russia together and their is support from volunteers, etc. Then you and the child decide if its a good match.

It sounded really cool and my wife and I are considering it. Ultimately we decided on first child being slightly younger (age 2 -3). We are still going to go with the Cradle of Hope agency because we admire their dedication to placing older children.

Both of the agencies we are considering (as we are also looking to adopt a non-infant/non-toddler child) have older children available as well as the hosting programs that Mr. Evans mentions. The two we are debating about include Lutheran Social Services and Commonwealth because of the hosting programs. You can PM me if you'd like my comments on what I've learned so far. But I do not think it's unusual from what I've seen to be able to pursue these childeren via many agencies...check with them individually to see if they have programs to do so.
