Anyone seen Natal Spinal Chord Trauma of Cervical Spine

Has anyone had Natal Spinal Chord Trauma of Cervical Spine or Subluxation of Cervical Spine on a referral?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE respond if you have. The IA doc says not to worry about it, BUT it just sounds BEYOND serious. If you have had it on your referral, what was the prognosis? Have you adopted or visited that child? Was it really nothing?

Yup.. we had this on our daugter's medical. It was even specific enough to say natal trauma to certain spinal numbers (like C4, C5, etc). I do not remember exactly. Our IA doc (2 in fact) siad that it is NO problem, and does not mean anything. Our daughter is not only doing well, but is nearly 100% on target developmentally, even without correcting for her prematurity (5 weeks) and orphanage delays.

Yeah, ours had cervical numbers, too. Subluxation of C-2, hyperextension of Cs-C3, C5-C6). It is such an amazing leap of faith to take when it sounds so "technical"

Thanks for letting me know about your daughter and the 2 IA docs. That helps A LOT!!!

Now you can see why it's tough for those who are well-versed in US medicine to look at these (without the input of an IA doc) -- in the US, all this stuff would mean something -- nothing is added to a medical unless it has some significance! My Ped's office, who does not specialize in IA medicine, looked at our daughter's medical and asked what it all meant.. they laughed when I said it meant nothing!

Every time I see my chiropractor I have Subluxation of C-2, hyperextension of C2-C4 on my records. Well, I can't say specifically those cervical vertibraes, but my neck is always going out. ...

One of the (many) doctors I consulted with in this adoption journey was a naturopath/chiropractor. Their medical philosophy is much closer to Russia, and I found her to be a wonderful resourse.
