Got Our Invitation to Travel!
We received "the call" this morning. We have been invited to travel to Volgograd on Sept. 26 to meet the two boys we've been referred! Our oldest son-to-be just turned 30 months old. The "little guy" is 14 months.
We still have some concerns about the youngest boy's medical report. However, the case coordinator in Russia wants us to at least meet him and visit with the doctor. We also hope to take an IA doctor to the orphanage with us, as well. The coordinator said that if we still are concerned about the little guy's medical, they will give us another referral when we're there. Who said international adoption didn't involve a certain "leap of faith?" We're astounded by the quick turn-around time of less than two weeks from tentative acceptance of the referrals to invitation to travel. Let's hope they'll move things along just as quickly when we're waiting for a court date! Keep us in your prayers, please! We're nervous wrecks! Mike

I'll be traveling the same time as you (although not to the same region).

mailed 1st application 9/30/03 dossier sent to agency 12/23/03 dossier received in Russia 2/6/04 ins approval 2/19/04 referral 9/15/04 accepted 9/16/04!
