Hi I am just wondering how many are in the waiting for a referral stage? We are currently waiting for a referral for boy/girl under 12 months. It has only been 3 weeks but it has been torture waiting. I keep telling myself our child is probably born and will be ours when it is time. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes you just have to be patient and let the powers that be do his magic!
I know that threads similar to this have been posted in the past but I know we get new members all time and it is just nice to post these every now and again. Here's to speedy healthy referrals and court dates and safe traveling!! Shay ![]() |

We just dropped our dossier off at the agency yesterday. It should be on it's way to Moscow today or tomorrow. So I don't know that we're considered waiting yet since it still has to be translated. But I'm glad I'm done with some paperwork for a little while at least. I'm ready to just wait. not for long though!
Do you know what region you'll be going to? Our agency doesn't assign you a region until they get a referral. I guess so that you don't have to wait for a specific region. However, yesterday they called and asked us if we'd be interested in going to the Altai region in Siberia. The only catch is that the 10-day wait most likely won't be waived. But we'll do what we have to. They just started working in this region and said that it's very likely that we'll get a referral as soon as our paperwork gets in the region. So i'm hoping that we'll hear something in a month maybe. We also are requesting as young as possible but under a year, either girl or boy. We figure we'll be getting a boy and will be very surprised if it's not. We'll have to look for posts about referrals from each other. Much luck in the process and I hope it's a speedy one for us both!

We were told that it could take 30-45 days to translate and our paperwork has only been the 21 days so we still have sometime before it is even done much less get a referral!
We were assigned to the Stavropol region! I hear it is a pretty hot region right now as far as how many families are going there. Hopefully our wait for a referral won't be much longer. Good luck with your referrals everyone!! Shay |

We are 10 1/2 weeks into this. Waiting for a boy and a girl under 9 months. Dossier has been in Russia since week 4. We flew through paperwork & HS.
Just told by the agency today that those are the most popular children being sought after so it is a loooooooong wait. Our agency has place over 300 children so they know what they are talking about. We are being told March as a prospective bring-home date. That will be 9 months start-to-finish. Just like a bio baby! So, it really isn't so bad! ![]() The hard part is watching the families asking for one child or older children and their adoptions are complete in 4-6 months with our agency! Wish that could be us, but it is in God' timing - not mine (no matter HOW MUCH I think I control it! )

We are waiting on an infant boy 6-12 months. We submitted our dossier on 08/13/04 & are still waiting on a region. It is between Kaliningrad & Vladivostok. Our agency has told us we will know by this Friday or next week at the latest. Waiting for a region has been hard when so many others already know which region they are going to. But we're hanging in there.

My husband and I have been waiting almost 7 loooooonnnnnggg months!!!! Our dossier was received in Russia on Feb. 6th. We are waiting for an infant girl under a year. We did not specify a region. I am hoping that we will receive a referral sometime in the next few weeks! I have really been down lately thinking that we previously thought she would have been home by September. I guess the little girl God has picked out for us is just not quite ready to come home yet, but I hope it is soon!!

britfish, our paperwork went out about 2 weeks before yours so unfortunately I am the winner (or shall I say loser?
). At first we were saying "we'll have her home by HALLOWEEN", then it was "we'll have her home by THANKSGIVING", now it is to the point where we are saying... "Please God let us have her home by CHRISTMAS!". ![]() |
