Can anyone give me any information on the Yekaterinburg region?

I just had a friend come back from there. Blind trip. Very positive. Everyone was nice, they fell in love with the first child they were shown. Only downside is they were told 2-6 months before they could get a court date. Of course if its 2 mos. that's wonderful. That's all i know. I think they get on a chat forum on yahoo that is specific for that region.

We adopted from Yekaterinburg; specifically, Pervouralsk, a city just west of Ekat. But we stayed in the city. Before I go on, you must know that I'm a history major and my husband is also a history buff and lover of travel. So perhaps we were more predisposed to loving Russia. We liked everything about Ekat. In fact, we miss it! Hotel was nice, great restaurants, we hear it's a very "green" city (we were there in Feb. and March). All kinds of stuff to do, tourist and historically speaking.

Regarding the wait, Ekat IS rumored to be one of the longest-waiting for "between trips." There are 2 judges that handle all cases in the region, and they rarely work at the same time. But as you can see by our timeline, sometimes things can happen quicker.
