documents needed for dossier

I would like to know what all documents are required for your dossier? I would like to know about them all, but I am mainly concerned about the financial documents. I know a long time ago I seen a post that listed all the documents, but for some reason I am unable to find it now. I would be very appreciative if someone would take the time to either point me to that post or tell me about the documents.

Thanks

Just remember it can vary for region and agency - for instance we are adopting from St. Petersburg (the only area our agency works with) and we didn't have to do some of the things waxhawfamily did - no police clearance for one, but there were other things we had to include like pictures of our home outside and inside, savings statements etc. I would ask for a complete list from your agency. As far as the financial stuff went we had to provide the front page of our tax return, a letter from our accountant (DH is self-employed), a salary letter for me, a financial worksheet of our assets and liabilities but the only backup requested to go along with that was our savings statements.

Sometimes an agency will ask you for everything needed by all regions they work with.

Thanks so much for everyone's help and time.
I have another question. When you send in a paper with your assests listed do you have to supply something like a title or reciept of purchase for each item. I live on a farm and it could take me monthes, if not longer, to produce something such as that for every item and how would I vaildate my entery for all our cattle, because most were raised here, not purchased? This is one of my main concerns, proving our assets.

Thanks once again for everyones help!!!

you have to provide copies of taxes for the last 3 years, proof of home ownership, i provided bank statements, retirement funds, etc. i would think the value of many things could be estimated. the agency then figures your net worth. i just know that on several final documents that went to russia and were signed by the russian court had my total net worth listed on the paper.

Assets

As someone stated above, each region requires different versions of the same documents. I had to have a CPA create financial statement. Like you it would have taken forever to gather all of the "back-up" docs to do this. I had a friend from Church complete mine..
All info had to match my homestudy and unfortunately I filled out my asset sheets and was wrong on the value on several things, but fortunately was able to correct that..

My region required an insurance statement from my employer that I would be allowed to provide a child with insurance with no pre-existing condition clause.

Your agency will walk you through it!!

The only backup we had to provide were the savings statements. Our worksheet had general categories of assets and liabilities like home, furniture, secured loans, unsecured loans and other - it didn't specifiy credit card debt or anything like that and we did not have to run the estimates by anyone. We did have to include the front page of our most recent tax return.
