I would second the Radisson. While not RIGHT NEXT to Red Square, there is a Metro stop across the street to the Radisson and a 5-minute ride to Red Square.

Good luck!

We are also traveling on the 20th.....sounds like the planes will be full.....hopefully full of children on the way home.

Check out the Marriott website, they have four (I think) properties in Moscow. The cream are the Royal and Grand, both are five star hotels that will run you about $275.00 per night. They also have the Renaissance that we stayed at about two weeks ago and paid about $189.00. They have another property further away from Red Square that I am not familiar with......

The website is very interactive and provides availlibity. We are making our third trip (long story) so we have become very knowledgeable in this area.

Feel free to pm me if you need any additional guidance.

We stayed at the Hotel Russia on our first trip. It sits right across the street from the Red Square, St. Basils. We visited them daily. We liked the hotel alot. Our rooms were very comfortable. With a beautiful view of the Red Square, the kremlin and St. Basils. We also enjoyed the breakfast there. It was on the 20th floor with a beautiful of city.

Haven't been yet, but have been researching hotels.

There is both a Sheraton and a Park Hyatt (both pricey) and also a Hotel Katerina (which is owned by Scandanavians).

Good Luck...does your agency have a travel agent? Or maybe whomever booked your tickets? This is when they come in handy, regardless of fees.

hotel

We stayed at the hotel ukraine. don't know the price because it was included with our agency. It was really nice for a hotel there. Breakfast was wonderful too. The red square is a short taxi drive and there is a macdonald's in walking distance.

Where to find Moscow hotel info

You can try calling hotels, using the phone numbers at http://adoptingfromrussia.com/Moscow.html#Hotels. Or ask Andrei at Peace Travel Service if he can help you. http://go-russia.com. He also reads the FRUA message board.

We stayed at the Budapest Hotel, about four blocks from Red Square. It was very nice about $150 per night.
