Question Adopt Again?

I thought it would be interesting to start a thread to provide this information.
How many people have , would or are in the process of adopting from Russia again and would you use the same agency. I know we can't say anything about the agencies, you don't have to say which one was used, just if you would go with the same agency or try another.

Smile Information on adoptions

I think this is a good idea Vicki. It's always great to have some extra help and guidence when just starting out on such a stressfull journey.

It really helps when one dosen't quite know which way to go.

Thanks Pam

We are currently waiting to travel to pick up our 2nd child from Russia.

There was never a question in our minds that we were going to use the same agency. We had an incredible experience the 1st time, and are having just as great an experience this time.

As most of you probably know by now, this is our 2nd adoption from Russia. The first one was almost 5 yrs. ago to get our 2 children, ages 6 and 4 at the time. Had a wonderful experience with the agency so actually am using them again this go around. This time everything has not gone well at all. Still waiting to bring the children home in May. We will be adopting again after this as well but will definitely change agencies. Good thread here. Love to hear what others have experienced. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Stephanie

HUMMMM Of course I would adopt again!!! Maybe in a few years...Will will need a sister! LOLOL

I would definately use the same agency and wouldn't hesitate a second! They took care of all the legal paperwork so I could focus my time on my son.

Thanks for the thread and great idea!

Lisa

Don't think we will be adopting again...but if we did I would definitely use the same agency again in a heartbeat, wouldn't even consider another agency.

We are "done" with growing our family...But I think adopting is incredible and I would use the agency we used for our home study (local) and not the one we used---just because they aren't nearby and post placement services/classes/etc. are in another state!

We will

We will adopt again, and would use Bethany again, I don't think we will go to the Irkutsk region again (never say never...if God called us to a child there again we would do it). We may do a domestic older child next time...when all of our other children are older.

If we could afford to adopt again, we would absolutely use our agency again.

Even though my husband and I are currently waiting for our FIRST referral, a baby boy, we've already started talking about our SECOND referral, a baby girl - but that wont be for a couple of years yet. LOL!

As of right now, we would definately use our agency the second time around....I havent had any problems with them at all.

This is our second adoption - 28 days and counting for the 2nd trip to bring Luke home - and we are using the same agency. We spent 2 years making our agency choice the first time so we never thought twice about using anyone else. We consider these people our friends and they have never let us down.

i have 2 bio boys and just came back from trip 2 with a girl.
if i were considering more than one child, i would get them at the same time because the trip is so strenuous and costly.
myself and another mother who traveled with me who had also had a bio child, both agreed that the adoption process was harder than giving birth. so many ups and downs, so many variables, so many outside people to rely on. of course the fathers were so proud that they had participated in something more difficult than childbirth. i would do it again but i would caution anyone that it is a very involved process - be ready for setbacks and disappointments and delays - but keep the finish line in view.

Yes, we want a little sister for our boy! Will probably start talking / paperwork in 2-1/2 to 3 years.

Yes, we will definitely use our same agency!

We adopted a little boy from TOmsk in Jan 04 & are discussing adoption #2 now for a little girl. There is a financial incentive for us to stay with the same agency but we are not sure if we will stay with them. We are also not sure if we want to go back to Tomsk. We will probably start the process again in another 6-8 months.

For those who have or had adopted again... what was the age difference between children. Since we want a girl this time we are a little worried that she will be very close to our sons age or older since so many people want girls. Also our agency makes you request up to 2 yrs old. Our son will be 1 the end of this week!
Cathy
