What happens to the children that aren't adopted by the host families after the camp is over? Do they just go back to Russia?
What do the children say and how do they feel? I would imagine that they feel total rejection. How does the orphanage help the child to deal with the rejection? How do the adopted children deal with and relate to the non-adopted children? We were thinking of hosting one day-----but if for some reason, the child isn't right for our family----can we help find them another family right here in the USA? If not, I would almost feel as though I would be guilty not adopting that child. Maybe photolisting are an easier way to go. Do the summer camp programs send you a photo and description of the child before they arrive? Just thought that I would ask, since I have already gotten a lot of help with adoption ideas from wonderful people on these boards. Thanks! ![]() |

The program I read about doesn't tell the children that they might be adopted by their host families. They are just told that they are spending the summer in the US. All the children return to Russia after the summer and the adoptions proceed from that point.
