Our agency just emailed us and wrote that are paperwork will likely go to the Pskov region and our referral should be coming soon. We are adopting a little girl from 3 - 5 years old.
Has anyone adopted from the Pskov region? If so, would you mind sharing your experience? Thanks!

We too are going to Pskov but we have not been there yet. We hosted over the summer and are waiting for our court date to travel. (3 to 4 weeks I hope)
When do you think you will travel?

I'm not sure when we will travel. Hopefully, within the next month if we receive a referral and we accept it. Our agency said it should be soon. So, if you host do you only make one trip? Keep me informed and let me know how it goes for you. Good Luck!!

We have had to wait again. Our agency said we should be going next month after the 9th of May.
This will be our only trip to Russia. Because she was here for the summer that counted as one trip.

Hi!

We are hoping for 2 children. A baby (up to 9 months ) and a toddler up to 4 years old. We've been told that a 3 year old and 6 month old may be available for us. Our agency owner is visiting the orphanage this week and will have more info for us. I've been on the Pskov website all night looking at the available children.

We think we will be travelling in June for the first trip, but if all goes well, we may be going in May. We didn't expect to hear from our agency so soon, since we don't have our 171 clearance yet, but I think they wanted to know if we would be interested in the toddler since they were going over for a site visit.

Hi Jill,

Actually, we never made it to the Pskov region. Our agency told us that was where we were going but then a child came available in another region - Izhevsk - so they sent our paperwork there. We just came back from our first trip 3 weeks ago and we leave Tuesday for our second trip. Our court date is 4/26.

Are you still adopting a little girl (3-5 y/o)? How did you make it through the 4 weeks? Where is Izhevsk? Sorry to ask - I'm new to this and I can't find it on my map.

I've only been waiting 2 days since I first learned of the boys, and I'm already going crazy with anticipation. We should hear something by Monday (ughhhh - even waiting a weekend seems too long)!

Why are they making you wait so long?

Jill you are going to just love your boys. We have a son who is 10 and I can't get enough of him!
We have had to wait because her uncle was causing some problems. Our agency is so great they hired an "inspector" who met with the uncle and looked over our information and went to the judge to report his findings. The judge ruled in our favor so now we are just waiting. Her birthday is May 22nd so we hope to have her home by then.

I feel your heart ache while in the "waiting" place. We have been there close to 9 months and there are bad days and better days. i keep telling myself God has a plan and it is much greater then mine.

We are adopting a 5 year old girl. Actually, she will be six on May 2. Can you believe we will have her for her birthday!! It's so exciting!

Izhevsk is a 2 hour plane ride southeast of Moscow in the central region. It was colder in Izhevsk then in Moscow by about 10 degrees.

What kind of medicals, and photos did you get before your first trip?
According to my agency I will get a blind referral from Pskov, and
should plan on
having the child I adopt examined after I meet her on the first trip.
Does this vary by the agency? Most posts seem to get photos and
medicals prior to their first trip.

We were giving a picture, medical and a summery of our child. A few weeks later we received a 5 min video.
Our situation might have been different because we hosted her rather then making the first trip.
