TV Show - Adoption Stories

I just discovered a tv show called "Adoption Stories" on the Discovery Health Channel. It's on a few times a day and I'm hooked! Each show is a half hour documentary about a family's adoption journey. I haven't seen a show about a Russian adoption yet but there have been a few on families that adopted from other countries. Anyway, I thought I'd pass on this info. in case you want to tune in. Be sure to have plenty of tissues handy!

There is also a 1 hour adoption story that Jane Seymore hosts. It comes on at 11 pm on Sun. nights. (A bit late, but you can record it) The past 2 Sun. have shown Russian adoptions. They usually highlight 2 different stories.

Funny, that's how I found the show on the Discovery Channel. I was trying to find the channel that the Sunday night show was on and I searched by topic on my cable box. Do you know what network the Sunday night show is on? I heard it was "the Hallmark Channel" but I can't find it. Maybe we just don't get it on our cable system.

Oops, thanks MicheleS, I forgot the channel---
Yes, it's on the Hallmark Channel. It is good.
I too LOVE the adoption stories on Dis. Health. However, so far they have been re-runs from this summer. I teach high school, and when I was home during the week this past summer, I watched them everyday. And yes, I had teh tissues out---turned into a big cry-baby. They are very good.

I think I have seen every episode by now... at least twice! I cry even during the reruns... esp. during the Russian stories!

I love that show. I cry at every episode. I just can't wait until it's me bringing home that baby.

Wink Thanks

I didn't know about the Sunday Evening one! I adore Adoption stories although they keep playing the same one over and over again! I still cry at them thinking that one day...that WILL be me! Thanks for letting me know about the Hallmark one!

Maybe we should all write Discovery Channel and let them know they can ride along with all of us for our journey! LOLOL

adoption story tonight

I have noticed that a few Sundays, for some reason, the adoption story on Hallmark Ch. does not show. Instead, a movie is playing. This happened a few weeks ago, and I noticed a movie is scheduled again tonight. Ohh well, I was getting excited about watching it tonight. Boo!

Thank You Adoption Stories!!

I have been watching Adoption Storeis since I found it last year after we brought our daughter home. LOVE IT! Can't wait to see the Hallmark show; I too was disappointed it wasn't on last night.

I also have Adoption Stories to thank for us decideing to go ahead with our now in process adoption. We had all along said one was it! Then I started to feel the urge to adopt again but my husband wasn't there yet. A couple of months ago, I had Adoption Stories on and my husband was in the room. Next thing I know, he's ready!! (He actually had tears in his eyes watching a Russian story!!)

We adopted from St. Pete - actually if you saw the one with the Cote family - that is where we adopted from (same agency too). Although the orphanage has been redone since that filming. Not all agencies will let you specify the region you can adopt from so be sure to ask.
best of luck-
