Exclamation Petition to Open Romanian Adoptions

I was just sent this link by my attorney in Bulgaria. It is a petition to the Romanian Government to open up international adoptions. Because Romania and Bulgaria are acting in concert in regards to adoptions, there is hope that moving the Romanian government may also impact the Bulgarian govenment.

Thank you! Sooner or later they have to do something about this. I am from Romania and I am not able to adopt a child from my own country.

I signed also. Dont know if I'll be adopting again, but I hope that no children remain behind in any Romanian orphanage. That is not the place for anyone to grow up in.

I just signed too. Romania was our first choice...DH's cousin had 2 daughters adopted from there...but it was closed by the time we were ready to adopt. I would love to adopt our 3rd child from there. Thank you for sharing.

I have not heard anything out of Romania, but in Bulgaria, the Minister of Justice did resign, and a committee is being formed to once again look at the process for international adoptions. In Bulgaria, with only 100 children let out a year, this is a positive step.

Smile Thank you!

So glad to see other people desiring to see a change in the Romanian government. I was there this past March and worked one on one with children in a baby hospital and with many orphans and cannot come to understand why Romania will not change their law? What I saw proved in itself to justify opening adoption again. Keep up the petition! Good work! Can't wait for the day when the Lord opens the doors to Romania a gain!

Red face I also signed

Thank-you for sharing the news of the petition as well. We also don't like to hear how children are left behind in any kind of situation! It seems like most countries have put a temporary hold on International adoptions latley!
