Birthmother 4/10/90 closed adoption
Hello..I am birthmother from RI that placed my daughter in CLOSED Private adoption agency on her birthday april 10, 1990..she was in foster care until september 25, 1990..all records are closed until she turns 18 yrs old. The adoption agency told me I have write a letter to her....explaining that I would like to meet with her... and HER choice to meet with me... Then, I decided to call the state of RI to get on RI registry... they told me the RI Adoption Laws state that ALL RECORDS ARE UNTIL 21 years old adoptee... both you(birthmom) and her (adoptee) have to go to family court and demand OPEN SEALED RECORDS in front of Family judge...
I AM SOOOO CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do... I am trying to write letter her...I WANT TO KNOW HER..SHE WILL 18 APRIL 10, 2008... ANY suggestions please e-mail me... annekhan@sbcglobal.net ..
