Smile Found location of birth son on Thanksgiving Day

I gave up my son 35 yrs. ago in England. Have been registered with various agencies since 1991 but it was by chance that I found I could do an active search for him in Aug. of this year.

To cut a long story short, I hired someone to find him two weeks ago. Lots of dead ends - including his adoptive mother who has not seen or spoken to him "in years".

The phone call I got yesteday to say he'd been found was - to say the least - emotional! How I managed to entertain and cook a Thanksgiving meal I don't know. I was walking on a cloud.

I mailed a letter to him today. Now the hardest part will be to see if I get a reply. To further complicate things I live in the states and he is in England. I'm hoping he'll be receptive to my contact & have given him every method of contacting me that I could think of (address, phone and e-mail).

I am so nervous. Want to hop on a plane NOW. Of course I won't and will give him chance to absorb what will be a huge shock. He's got to be the one to make the decision where this will go.

Just needed to let some of the excitement out.....Wish me luck!

Congrats!!

I bet you are checking your email every 5 minutes to see if he's replied! I reunited earlier this year and still remember the feeling of seeing that first email. I still get excited when a new email appears from my birthmother!

Good luck and best wishes, I hope it goes as well as mine has!

Found!

Hi, Jill,
It's just so incredible -- how more and more people are finding each other these days. Take some deep breaths, dear. You're in for the ride of your life. I hope he answers quickly and positively. Feel free to come here for support. I know how you feel. Only another birthmom can understand the depth of emotion at a time like this. If you don't already, you might try keeping a journal. That helped me a lot.
Hugs,
Linda
