Welcome: Have you tried to get your orginal birth certificate? I am a birth mom and felt that I should reassure you that as those thoughts have been on your mind most of your life, well the thoughts of my birthson were on my mind HIS entire life. I would bet the same goes for your birthmother. In the posts that I have read on this forum, many adoptees post here looking, as well as many other sites. There is always a place to start, and many here will be able to give you suggestions of where to look as well. I wish you the best of luck, but have comfort in knowing that you are in someones thoughts as well.

I always wondered if she thought about me, or if she just forgot. Are there any other major sites that birthmothers browse? I really hope to one day meet her, and see where i come from.

I have been in touch with many birth moms - probably hundreds by now - Not a one ever "forgot" her child - it is just not possible. And, most love and long for their child and would love to reconnect with them. Sign up with WWW.ISRR.ORG. It is one of the largest registries - and it is free. Check to see if your state has a registry and check out reunite.com too.
Your birth mom may be like many of us though and not know that she can or should search - so do not get discouraged if you find that she has not registered. If you are lucky though - she may be like me and be thrilled to be found! There are few absolutes in adoption - but, I can almost guarantee that your birth mom thinks of you and worries and wonders about you. Last edited by Southernroots : 11-18-2005 at 10:50 AM. |
