OK...this is off topic BUT its my thread and I won't mind, so here goes: The Mother-of- the- Bride is a size ~Barbie~....seriously, the woman has no stomach, just unlimited boobies ( which she is show-casing in a low cut dress, btw) and legs that Tina Turner would envy. You know how the 2 Moms usually keep their dresses secret from each other; well she RAN over and showed me hers last week because she knew I couldn't touch that! She is a knockout and seconds after she walks down the asle I am expected to lumber down the same asle and take my seat in the row across from her. I "tested" Mike by saying Honey Lila is so beautiful that she will be a distraction from her own daughter don't you think? He smiled this slow dreamy smile and said " Yeah but she'd distract if the room were full of brides... shes a real "10" then he got all red and stammered "but she doesn't have your "glow." DuH I'm pretty darn sure she's happy about that! Maybe they'll stop the music and dim the lights as I enter the church and just let me glow....just a moment of silence as I stand there like a human spotlight.

Missy, I don't know your full history but it sounds like good solid advice from your therapist. For what it's worth, it sounds like you're being a good role model for Tovia about setting boundaries about people just dropping by with no notice or invitation (especially people you may not be ready to get to know), and maybe when she starts to notice them using her for her nice things, etc., she'll be in a better frame of mind to be able to tell them to back off.

It really sounds like they may be very bad news. How can Tovia feel comfortable with her half-sister's attitude about her children? Hopefully she'll see through them pretty quickly.

Best wishes to you. I was gonna give you some advice about what you might suggest to Tovia but you know, really, your own behavior is what you can do something about, not someone else's. And it sounds like you are setting some limits and trying to make the situation workable for you.

Yikes!! CPS taking her kids is doing her a favor? What is she going to do next summer? Setting boundries with these girls will also help role model for Tovia. Boundries definately need to be set with the two of them.

You guys are so right in pointing out the obvious; I think that Tovia is just enjoying being the "star" of the "sisterhood" at the moment and hasn't thought it through yet, plus to reject them totally would have been snobbish and she isn't. She needs to do what Brenda says and set boundaries. Maybe she is looking for a reason other than the obvious to do that. It was apparent from the moment I laid eyes on them; they dress and act like Hootchie Mama's. Kia says Dana took 2 cans of beer in her purse in the movies when they saw Harry Potter on Saturday...I am not being judgemental (OK maybe I am ) but its a fact, they are simply in a different class. Kia also said Tovia paid for everything including the smuggled beer and she doesn't drink. When they were introduced to me Tovia shared that I was pregnant and Dana reaction was D*** I hope I ain't still having kids when I am old! The fact that she is having them now baffles me Its a mystery and soon it'll be history. MissyM
