Lightbulb E-pal wanted & open adoption advice

We have luckily been chosen by a lady to adopt her unborn baby. The baby is due in February. We are fairly certain that this adoption will go through as the birthmother is in her late 30's and has other small children. She has a good support system with her friends and they support her in her decision.

Since we have several more months to go before the baby is born, I am a nervous wreck. Not because of fear of her backing out but because the wait is agonizing.

I would love to talk with someone waiting for a promised baby. And I need advice on what to expect on an open adoption. My husband and I feel that the more people that love this baby, the better the baby will be!! sincerely, Celeste in South Texas

WHAT A COINCIDENCE SO ARE WE

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE IT BUT WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT FOR TWO MONTHS WITH A YOUNG GIRL WHO HAS AGREED TO LET US ADOPT HER BABY. I HAVE TALKED TO HER AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS. I TOOK HER TO HER FIRST ULTRASOUND APPT THREE WEEKS AGO. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE IS SORT OF UNREAL. OUR BABY IS DUE IN NOVEMBER AND I AM A NERVOUS WRECK, AS MY HUSBAND AND EIGHT YR OLD DAUGHTER TAKE EVERYTHING IN STRIDE. MY MOTHER AND FATHER IN LAW BOUGHT US A CRIB AND CHNGING TABLE OVER THE WEEKEND MAKING EVERYTHING MORE REAL. I HAVE ALL THESE MIXED EMOTIONS. DO YOU HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH YOUR BMOM? I HAVE SUCH CLOSE CONTACT THAT I FEEL MYSELF TRYING TO TALK THE BMOM INTO KEEPING THE BABY, EVEN AS MUCH AS I WANT IT. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOMEONE IN A SIMILIAR SITUATION TO BE ABLE TO TALK TO. NO-ONE ELSE REALLY UNDERSTANDS. I KNOW THEY UNDERSTAND HOW I FEEL, BUT I REALLY DONT THINK UNTIL YOU ARE FACED WITH THE REALITY OF THE SITUATION THAT YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME ANYTIME. MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS FOUND IN MY PROFILE. OR SEND ME A PERSONAL MESSAGE. IM NEW TO THIS WEBSITE AS WELL AND AREN'T COMPLETELY SURE HOW TO USE ALL OF THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS. EAGERLY WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY. WATING TO ADOPT IN OK
