I too believe that children can benefit from as much love as possible but also I believe that since bmoms carry this child for 9 months, they deserve to stay in contact through the child's life. that is not easy and it is really hard to "cut the ties" or "move on". Open adoption helps bmoms to grieve if they need to greive and at least not feel totally abandoned. If they decide not to parent for whatever reason, then they still should be honored for respecting the gift of life so much. I know lots of bmoms say that they want no cantact but I hope that they at least give their names and addresses to aparents so the child can contact them in the future. It is important for each child to know where they came from. It is so much a part of who they are and what they are going to be.
