The majority of agencies allow the expectant mother to chose the family if she so desires. I would be extremely cautious dealing with an agency that held alot of control over the matching process.
There are also varying degrees of openness in adoptions today. You will find a family who will meet your needs and the need of your child.

if you're interested in the links to the information I've gathered, send me an email. I've found several "parent search" sites plus a lot of informative sites...
If I'm doing my math right...3 months is...12 weeks. As of today (Monday the 3rd of September) I'm exactly 11 weeks, 0 days so if I'm right we would be due around the same time...

All of the agencies we have looked into using allow the expectant mom to choose the family. They will usually give you 5-10 profile books and if you do not find the right family in those, they will usually provide more.
You are early enough in your pregnancy that you have time to research for the right agency, and then for the right family. Best of luck!

Every agency I reasearched take for granted that expectant parents will choose an adoptive couple on their own if that's what they want to do.
You really shouldn't have a problem finding an agency/attorney to help you out. Like the previous poster said, you've got time, so you can do some research and decide what options are best. Good luck! |

Good luck. I think that the agencies - some of them anyway are really focussed on helping the birhtmother chose the right family for them. In fact, some agencies are considered very "pro-birthmother". Thay have counseling services and help you with you adoption plan. The bigger agencies have many many couples signed up and you can select from dozens of profiles of couples looking to adopt. Who adopts your baby should be and will be enitrely up to you. Best of luck.
