Cost of adoption

Can anyone give me an estimate of what the total adoption would cost after agency fees and everything? I wanted to do international but I don't have any idea which one is cheaper. Thanks so much.

Our domestic one ended up at around $26K, but there were special circumstances involved.

We adopted domestic newborns 3 times. Each one was around $7,000 - $13,000 TOTAL!! They were Biracial & AA children.

We adopted domestically and with all expenses including our facilitator it was between $20-$22.

We adopted domestically and our total was just under $14,000. Fortunately, our insurance paid for all the babies' medical care, as the twins were hospitalized in the NICU for a month.

Varies Greatly

Hello!
We've found that costs vary greatly, even among people who have done the same type of adoption. Foster/adopt is definitely the cheapest route.
We did a domestic adoption through a private agency (whom I do not recommend), and all of the adoption costs, travel, legal, etc. will be close to $30K. And yes, we adopted a bi-racial baby, so, bi-racial babies aren't necessarily less expensive to adopt. It all depends on your circumstances, I think.

Good luck!

Child #1: Is that your mother?
Child #2: Yes.
Child #1: Why is she white and you are black?
Child #2: Because I am adopted, and black people have more melanin than white people do.
Child #1: Oh, let's go on the high bars.
