Looking for poem to give to birthmother for birthday

I am trying to create a memento to give to my daughter’s birthmother for her birthday. I would like to design a photo frame with a poem in it. I would like to know if any of you have a poem that has touched your heart and would be appropriate to have my daughter give to her bmom. This is the first birthday she has had since she gave birth. Thanks for any and all help.

Legacy of a Child in Open Adoption
by (our very own) Brenda Romanchick

Once there were two expectant mothers.
One carried and cared for you beneath her beating heart
She became your Birthmother.
The other carried the hope of you within her.
She became your Mom.
As the days passed, and you grew bigger and stronger,
Your Birthmother knew that she could not give you all you needed after
your birth.
Meanwhile, your Mom was ready and waiting for you.

One day your Birthmom and your Mom found each other.

They looked into each other’s eyes and saw a friend.
Your Birthmom saw the life your Mom could give you.
Your Mom saw how much your Birthmom loved and cared for you.

They decided that what you needed was both kinds of love in your life.

So now you have two families,
One by birth, the other by adoption.

And you have a home where you can get:
your questions answered,
your boo boos bandaged,
your heartaches soothed,
And much needed hugs.

And a place where you can find:
answers to your questions,
your image in the mirror,
a part of yourself,
And much needed hugs.

Two different kinds of families
Two different kinds of love
Both a part of you.

I also like this one:

Two Families

I have two families on this earth,
One by adoption, and one by birth.
My first family was very kind
But then one day they couldn't find
The things they needed to help me grow.
They made a decision out of love, I know.
They said "Good-bye", and then they cried.
But my second family did not hide.
They knew that I should come inside
Their loving home and family.
Now I'm here, and it's best for me.
And I still have two families on this earth,
One by adoption, and one by birth.

~ Amanda Dees age 9
Written after meeting her birth mother.

This is my favorite poem. It came with a necklace I bought at the adoption shop online. I had my daughter's name engraved on the back of the pendant for her first mom. I also used the poem in the coffee table photo book I made for her first parents which had their maternity shoot photos in it and the birthing photos, all of which I took.

Cherished Wish

The sun is nature, warmth & light
Giving life & hope & might
And though it may be far away
Will touch the child with every ray

The heart is nurture, love & grace
Lives for each smile upon your face
Teaches what you need to know
Makes you laugh & helps you grow

For one, a wish that runs so deep
Their child-- a home to safely keep
Another's wish so true & bold
A child to love & teach & hold

The star-- the wish of the two
Heaven makes them both come true
In both ways merciful & mild
Their star -- the cherished wish -- the child

AMom2Two, you're welcome! Obviously I can't take credit for it, but I'm glad I found it. I think I especially like it because it's not too sentimental, if you know what I mean. The pendant that came with it is very lovely. Our daughter's first mom just loved it and put it on immediately.
